Coronavirus LIVE: Maharashtras biggest jump takes India cases past 17,000

in India update: The cases reached 17,615, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the jumped to 556 in India so far.

Meanwhile, the Delhi government during the day announced that there will be no relaxation in the ongoing lockdown. Telangana went a step ahead and extended the till May 7. Maharashtra will allow limited financial activities to resume from Monday. 

World update on coronavirus: The worldwide from the novel pandemic rose to 164,784, according to a tally from official sources compiled by Worldometer. More than 2.4 million declared cases have been registered.
